  1. Hi Kostas, really nicely done paint job. I love this bust, the face is especially what attracted me to it showing such character. You have captured it all brilliantly.
I am about to start on the same Bust which is how I found your blog when I was googling the figure. I have tried to do some research but have kept getting differing answers with respect to uniform colour. So can I ask you what colours you used for the coat and shirt? Thanks, Dave

    1. Hi Dave,

I did not paint this bust….. I am collector and not a painter. All the items that you see in my blog are items of my collection but I did not paint any of them….. Therefore, I can not give you any advise regarding the colours etc. However, if you want I can find the internet address / link of the manufacture of this bust. You may contact with them directly . I am sure that they will be more than happy to answer to all of your questions regarding this bust….

      Regards,

      Kosta

  2. Hi Kostas,

Thanks for your answer. It's Ok I own this bust and can also contact them and I have some references through some research, but I really liked the shade this painter achieved so I thought I would try and cheat rather than playing around with my own mixes! So I was just being lazy! You have a nice collection, I mainly paint, but do also collect, but my collection is not a large as yours. Though I do have some pieces by Sheperd Paine the GodFather of our hobby which I am proud of. I had some of his Shadow Boxes also that feature in his books, but I sold them back to the collector who I bought them from as he was really desperate to have them back (and he is a friend).

Thanks anyway for responding, I shall stop being so lazy and make up my own colour. I would ask if you could confirm just from looking at it are the pictures accurate as it looks like a very deep purple almost black with a touch of grey - is that how it looks to you in real life?

    Regards,

    Dave
